Animated filmmaking
Ranked 1st in the world in animation by Career Review magazine, GOBELINS has gained international recognition in the field of character animation.
GOBELINS offers a complete curriculum from Bachelor's to Master's degree, an English and a French course with a double degree, as well as a dedicated preparatory programme.

More than 40 years of animation
The animation department at GOBELINS was born thanks to Asterix!
Uderzo and Goscinny were looking for young artists for the Idefix studios they had just created in 1973. They approached the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry. A few months later, the "Animated Film" department at GOBELINS was created.
In 1976, when the first class of animation students graduated, the industry was still in its infancy. GOBELINS was then the only school to train in the techniques of animated film thanks to the enthusiasm of passionate self-taught professionals.
It was in this atmosphere that the classes of students followed one another and very quickly forged the school's reputation for excellence, each contributing to the development of projects that would mark their era.
From decade to decade, the school has evolved its teaching, following technological advances, particularly those brought about by digital technology, while reconciling them with artistic issues.
Exceptional patreons
Each year the Gobelins School welcomes a renowned filmmaker to be the “patron” of its Master of Arts graduating class. Patrons advises the students as they work on their thesis films, the culmination of their studies. Giving feedback and guidance the patrons help students as they write, direct, and promote their thesis films.
