From storyboard to animatic

This course is designed for students and young professionals in Animation, Graphic Design, Web Design, and Game Design who wish to move towards storyboarding as a profession.
Starting from their own script, or one provided by GOBELINS, students will draw a storyboard, then edit it and add sound to create a finished animatic.​

GOBELINS’ Online Course targets creatives who are looking to learn or improve their storyboarding skills and gain inspiration along the way.

Designed for students and young professionals in Animation, Graphic Design, Web Design, and Game Design who wish to move towards storyboarding as a profession, this course appeals also to directors and screenwriters wishing to understand storyboarding and its place in the animation production pipeline.

This program is 100% taught in English, therefore applicants should have a good level of fluency to follow lectures and workshops.

Supervised by renowned professionals working in Animation studios, many of whom are graduates or teachers from GOBELINS, participants will follow lectures, masterclasses and individual tutoring over the three-week course. This will guide students in the creation of a complete 1 to 2 minute animatic.

The course will provide instruction and guidance in drawing, cinematic language, editing, and sound design.
If you have a taste for narration and possess good drawing skills then this course is for you!

Classes will be held online from 4:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M (Paris time) from 8th to 25th April 2024.

At the end of the course, participants will receive an official certificate from GOBELINS.

Tuition fees

1800 € for 3 weeks of Lectures, Master classes, Workshop Sessions with individual tutoring.

Admission process

Applicants should complete the application form (PDF) and return it to onlinecourses@gobelins.fr with a portfolio including their projects or more advanced works to be sent via Filemail or WeTransfer.

The selection committee will examine their files for admission. The selection process remains open until places are still available.

After admissibility, the participant will receive an admission letter and will have to pay the tuition fees using our online platform in order to confirm the admission. GOBELINS will not return any submitted material.

All payments should be completed before the course starts. In case of a cancellation after the programme starts, GOBELINS reserves the right to retain full payment.
