2D Animation
This online course is aimed at enabling students and professionals from around the world to gain a better understanding of what makes a successful character animation.
Duration
A previous experience in Animation basics/fundamentals is required so that students will benefit the most from the programme.
Such experience is mandatory in order to participate in the workshop activities which represent more than 50% of the programme. Consequently, candidates should master the use of TV Paint.
Other profiles such as professionals or students of Art Design and Production Management, could also get a better understanding of Character Animation from the main lectures, but will not be able to participate in the workshops.
The programme is 100% in English, therefore applicants should have a good command of the language in order to follow lectures and workshops.
The programme has been designed for professionals and advanced students in Animation and is based on 3 pillars:
- Experience: GOBELINS’ finest applied research in Character Animation is presented by GOBELINS professors during lectures.
- Expertise: chosen experts from the industry share their practical experience directly with the students during lectures and workshops.
- Practice: tailor-made exercises assigned to the students by the lecturers in the workshops and reinforced thanks to individual coaching.
Following the morning lectures, workshops will be held each afternoon. Over the two weeks, participants will be given one exercise to complete with the guidance of our professional tutors.
Participants will work on a 4-to-6-second acting exercise focused on a character’s change of mood and expressions or for the more advanced, an interaction between two characters.
At the end of the course, participants will receive an official certificate from GOBELINS.
Classes will be held on GOBELINS’ online platform from 12.00 P.M. to 8.30 P.M. (Paris time) from 5th to 16th December 2022.
Some classes or activities may begin earlier and finish later.
