3D Character Animator - 3 year programme

Target audience

• Highschool diploma holders


Good general knowledge of 3D computer graphics, open-mindedness, ability to work in a team, strong interest about Character Animation

Interest for infography, open mindedness and creativity, ability to work in a team, strong taste in animation, knowledge in cinema. Good English level.


Tuition fees

European Union citizens: 9.300 €
(+ 300 € if monthly-instalment payment)
Non European Union citizens: 14.000 €
(+ 300 € if monthly-instalment payment)

Training validation

« 3D Character Animator » professional certification of level II (Fr), and level 6 (Eu) code NSF 323, registered in the RNCP by decree of 11/07/2018 published in the JO on 21/07/2018, renewal process is underway.

GOBELINS campus Annecy


This course doesn’t require an excellent level of drawing. It is designed for young High school graduates who want to discover and get specialized knowledge in 3D character animation. Supervised by professionals working in renowned 3D animation studios, the programme is built around theoretical classes, practical simulation exercises and expert’s conferences aiming at developing professional skills in staging, movement and acting.

This course is delivered on the Annecy Campus.

  • Body mechanic

  • Animation of characters: humans, animals and toons
  • Facial expressions and lip synchronization (for dialogues)
  • 3D Layout
  • Introduction to Motion Capture techniques
  • International experts’ conferences on animation


You will learn to: 

  • Develop your creativity technique in character animation
  • Master various 3D animation techniques: Methodology and practice
  • Get professional skills in the animated film sector
  • Classes are taught in English and French (bilingual teachers).



Production of an individual demo reel highlighting the skills acquired in animation


Internship :

2 months minimum (to be done over the course)




Opening of admission process: 10 November 2021

Closing of admission process: 6 April 2022


Tests date

Admission interview: Between the 17th and 20th May 2022
