Target audience

Students or professionals

  • A background in Animation, cinema, TV, comic books, video games, illustration, etc.
  • A taste for narration
  • Good drawing skills
  • Minimum age : participants must be over 18 y.o (for full package)
  • The programme is 100% in English, therefore applicants should have a good command of the language in order to follow lectures and workshops.

As seats in the programme are limited, the selection committee will examine the files for admission on a first come first served basis, until places remain available.
After notification of admissibility, please note that you will be able to proceed to the payment using our online platform, in order to confirm your enrolment.
Seat will only be guaranteed after complete payment.
GOBELINS will not return any submitted material.

Cancellation policy:
Should the Summer School be cancelled due to an unexpected outbreak, GOBELINS will refund the tuition fees in full.
In the event of a cancellation by the participant:

  • before April 1st 2022, all participation fees will be reimbursed
  • after April 1st 2022, GOBELINS, l’école de l’image will retain 50% of paid fees
  • after June1st 2022, the school reserves the right to retain the full payment

During this 2 weeks course, you will learn the storytelling tools and techniques, and get the best advice to take your project to a professional level!

Thanks to morning lectures by GOBELINS professors and experts from the industry - on methodology, story structure, character development, theme analysis – you will grasp insights into the art of combining story and image.
This will be reinforced by coaching sessions during afternoon workshops to help you develop your unique stories and to structure the visual presentation of your portfolio.

This Summer School is a great opportunity to master the craft in storytelling and to hone your skills in pitching with confidence.

Let’s bridge imaginations from around the world for an enjoyable experience!
All classes are 100% taught in English.
The participant will have the opportunity to pitch their work in front of a jury on the final day.
At the end of the course, the participants will receive an official certificate from GOBELINS.




From July 11th 2022 to July 22 nd , 2022 – The Summer School Classes will be held from 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday.
The school welcomes students from 8:30 AM to 6 PM - Monday to Saturday. Classrooms will also be available for personal work.

Premises are closed on Sunday, hence no activities will be scheduled on Sunday 17 th .
Please note that some classes or activities may begin earlier or finish later.
The school reserves the right to make any last-minute change in the programme whenever it needs to be amended or

*Accommodation: 13 nights from July 10th to July 22nd. Typically a room in one of the residences of the International University Campus in Paris.
Check-in: Sunday July 10th / Check-out : Saturday July 23rd morning
**Upon arrival on Sunday 10th, participants will be given a travel Pass to enjoy unlimited travel on Metro, bus, or RER within central Paris valid until July 22nd. The pass is suitable to commute between residence and school.

As safety of students and staff is our priority, GOBELINS will comply with the government guidelines ensuring you are in the best possible condition during the Summer School (hand sanitizing station, face covering inside the school if mandatory, reduced capacity to keep social distances …)
