French Embassy in Ghana and GOBELINS deliver masterclasses for young professionals in Video Game and Animation

With a view to support the development of the Animation and Video Game industry in Ghana, the French Embassy in Ghana and GOBELINS launched last week a series of master classes opened to young Ghanaian professionals and students.
With the support of the Embassy, and in close relationship with Ghanaian partners, GOBELINS International Development department has designed three tailor made programmes to meet a training demand in Visual Development, Visual Storytelling, as well as in 2D animation and Character Design.

Held from May 25-28 2021, the first course was in Visual Development and has been taught by two amazing teachers who graduated from GOBELINS: Manddy Wyckens, Animation director, Art director & illustrator working in London, and Daniel Snaddon Animation director and Animator in South Africa. They presented what a good Visual Development brings to a project and its influence on the general view and tone of a story.

During these 10 hours of master class we welcomed 70 passionate artists in Animation from studios such as Indigene Bros, Now Available Africa, Animaxfyb, Parable studio, etc. and colleges such as the National Film and Television Institute or Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology.

The next online programme in Visual Storytelling of this partnership will be held from 13th to 17th September, 2021.
