A previous experience in Motion Design is required so that students can benefit the most from the programme.
Such experience is mandatory in order to participate in the workshop activities which represent more than 50% of the programme. Consequently, candidates should master the classic Motion Design softwares (Cinema4D, Adobe Creative Suite, render engines Octane/Redshift or Sketch&Toon).
Other profiles, such as young professionals or students of Art Design, could also get a better understanding of Design Principles and Animation, but they should have some strong basic knowledges of the softwares.
The programme is 100% in English, therefore applicants should have a good command of English in order to follow lectures and workshops.

Online Course From Storyboard to Animatic

GOBELINS’ Online Course targets creatives who are looking to learn or improve their storyboarding skills and gain inspiration along the way.
Designed for students and young professionals in Animation, Graphic Design, Web Design, and Game Design who wish to move towards storyboarding as a profession, this course appeals also to directors and screenwriters wishing to understand storyboarding and its place in the animation production pipeline.
This program is 100% taught in English, therefore applicants should have a good level of fluency to follow lectures and workshops.

Summer School in Character Animation - Online session

- Minimum age : participants must be over 16 y.o
- Full package: for those who would like to participate in the workshops (more than 50% of the programme):
- Background in Animation or visual arts with good drawing skills
- Proficiency in Animation software such as TVPaint for 2 D Animation, or Maya for 3D Animation.
- Other profiles (production manager, students, etc.) who would like to get a better understanding of Character Animation can assist to the masterclasses and lectures only (no participation in workshops)

Character animation and animated filmmaking - Bachelor of Arts

Expected qualites: applicants shoud show a regular practice of drawing with disposition to the expression of movement, volume and perspective. They should be openminded, creative and capable of imagining graphic worlds and stories. They should have a good general and artistic culture, aptitude for teamwork and a real motivation for learning animation film techniques, both 2D and 3D.
Summer School Drawing for Movement (postponed due to COVID)

The course will interest people in animation, illustration, fashion, comic book, and graphic storytelling. Participants should have a previous life drawing experience. The program will be 100% in English and participants will need to have a level of English that will allow them to follow the lectures.
Summer school in Visual Storytelling (Level 1)

The program is designed for students or professionals, or in fact anyone, with a strong project and the desire to develop it into a fully realized work. A strong interest in questions related to storytelling and a taste for sharing ideas and working with others is recommended.
The program is 100% in English, however most of the teachers will be fluent in English and French, and some in Spanish.
Participants will need to have a level of English that will allow them to follow the lectures. In the workshops, however, participants will be working with tutors who will follow their projects in the language they feel most comfortable with (English, French, Spanish).
